About

Albert Salt personifies eclecticism in music – seamlessly spanning genres and projects of distinct variation. His classical training and musical agility have seen him perform with the likes of Client Liaison, Kele, Boy & Bear, Jinja Safari, Safia and Julia Stone.

Hailing from Hamilton, country Victoria, Salt gained attention in 2011 following the release of his debut record ‘Dearest Stranger’.

Lead single ‘Fear & Loathing’ garnered support from triple j Unearthed, where he became a 2011 Unearthed High finalist before earning a slot at Parklife Festival. He followed his debut with a succession of EPs before the release of his sophomore album ‘Wilson Street’ in 2015 and his 2017 single ‘Glass Plains’ which featured Alex Lahey on saxophone.

In 2017, Salt joined Melbourne-based producer Flamingo Jones to form the tropical dance-duo Juno Disco. In 2019 they released their debut self-titled EP and toured nationally with Luke Million and LEISURE, before appearing at St Kilda Festival in 2020.

Despite music industry shutdowns in 2020, Salt remained busy writing and recording new ‘Juno Disco’, scoring his first feature with the acclaimed composer and conductor Nicholas Buc (Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Ben Folds, The Avalanches) for a new film 'Slant' and released his new solo EP ‘25 Not Doing Alright’ – his first major body of work in five years. In 2021, Salt followed the extended release with the Double J high rotation single ‘Think It’s Time To Get A Job’ and new track ‘Family Tree’.

Returning in 2022 with nostalgic, guitar-driven new single, ‘I Know For Sure That I’m Not Sure’, Albert Salt is exploring a new sonic territory as he embraces bands like Wheatus and American Football, continuing to demonstrate his aptitude for creating all-consuming experiences that arrive in style, with whiffs of more to come.
